How much weight can an Eco Kids mattress handle?
An Eco Kids mattress can handle a sleeper’s weight of up to 120kg, based on a simulated nightly sleeping test over the life of a bed. However, our family understands the importance of storytime and comforting your child overnight when necessary. That’s why we’ve designed our kids’ beds to support a combined weight of up to 150kg.
What type of bed base or frame do you recommend?
Your Eco Kids mattress needs a bed frame that is stable, level and offers sufficient support and ventilation. The ideal bed bases comprise a solid flat slat system. If slats are exposed, the gap between the flat slats shouldn’t be more than 10cm apart. We do not recommend flexible (posture) slats for a spring bed frame or base, as they can change the feel and support provided by the mattress.
Depending on the available bedroom space, our kids’ mattress range fits perfectly on single beds, bunk beds, trundle beds, and even double beds. However, while it is okay to use the Eco Kids mattress on the floor for short periods, such as for a kid’s slumber party, we do not recommend using them on the floor for long. Without a bed frame, adequate airflow becomes prohibited, which can cause mould and other damage.
How do I care for an Eco Kids mattress?
We strongly advise purchasing a mattress protector to help protect your children’s mattresses. Please remove any stains or marks on the mattress by wiping or dabbing with a soft, damp cloth. Don’t use solvents or chemicals, and take care not to overwet your kid’s bed.
Do I need to flip or rotate the mattress?
No. Unlike other mattresses, you needn’t worry about flipping the Eco Kids mattress. We have designed the perfect child’s mattress with the highest quality, eco-friendly materials. Simply rotating the mattress of your kids’ beds, top to bottom, every few months will keep it in top condition and allow for even wear and a good night’s sleep for the life of your mattress.
