What size is a child's mattress?

Our kids’ mattress sizes are available in a wide range of kids’ mattress dimensions allowing you to choose the right size to suit your child, their growth phase and room size. A standard Single is 92 x 188 x 22 cm, however, we have three other sizes that may suit you and your child even better. These are:

Double 137 x 188 x 22 cm

What size bed should a 4-year-old have?

The choice of bed size for your child is a personal one influenced in part by their readiness to transition out of a cot bed and the space they have available within their bedroom. Each child will transition at different times, and when they’re ready, choose from our Eco Kids Single Bed, King Single, Long Single and Double Bed kid’s mattress dimensions and make that next move a truly special and exciting one for you and your child.

What size bed should a 7-year-old have?

If you’re looking to replace a bed for your 7-year-old, it’s worth considering a move to a mattress size larger than a standard Single size bed. Children at this age can go through large growth spurts and may appreciate the added space to stretch out in a Long Single, King Single or Double Bed Kids mattress.

At this age, beds are often utilised for reading, quiet play, homework or watching movies. If you can accommodate the extra room, upgrading beyond the standard single could be a wise choice.

How much weight do your mattresses support?

Designed to suit children aged 2 and over, all the way up to young adults, The Eco Kids mattress is built tough and strong. It has been tested to handle a sleeper’s weight of up to 120kg, based on a simulated nightly sleeping test over the life of the mattress. Parents and carers can sit or lay on the mattress with a child for short periods of time with a combined weight of up to 150kg.
