All About the Eco Kids Certifications, and What They Mean

Mom and baby, eco kids mattress

Making any type of purchase for your child can be difficult, there are so many things to consider. From toys to bedding, you have to think about if they will like it, whether it’s safe, amongst so many other things.

We know buying a mattress for your child is considered a big purchase, and a lot of thought goes into it. That’s exactly why we’re happy and proud to share our certifications with you. These certifications help make buying an Eco Kids mattress a conscious and informed decision, and take a lot of the guesswork out.

Here are our four certifications and what they mean:

Australian Made

Australian-Made-logo

What does this mean?

The famous Australian Made, Australian Grown (AMAG) logo is the true mark of Aussie authenticity. It’s Australia’s most trusted, recognised and widely used country of origin symbol, and is underpinned by a third-party accreditation system, which ensures products that carry the logo are certified as ‘genuinely Australian’.

The AMAG logo can only be used on products that are registered with the not-for-profit Australian Made Campaign, and which meet the criteria set out in the Australian Consumer Law and the AMAG Logo Code of Practice.

For more than 30 years, the AMAG logo has helped thousands of brands communicate their Australian credentials to consumers.

Interesting AMAG Facts

-Almost all (99%) Australians recognise the logo

-Most (90%) Australians have a preference for Aussie products

GECA Certified

What does this mean?

The Eco Kids mattress contains Joyce and Dunlop foams, which are GECA certified. Environmental Choice Australia is a not for profit that provides solutions for sustainable consumption and production. They empower consumers to have confidence in their purchasing decisions, and trust GECA certified products to be healthier, safer, and better for the environment.

We want to live and work in clean, healthy, environmentally responsible spaces, and thankfully GECA can help us achieve this. They’re keeping up with the latest in sustainability to show manufacturers how to best create green products. At the same time, they’re showing consumers across Australia how easy it is to make a good choice, with their easily recognisable and trustworthy ecolabel.

Their comprehensive standards are designed to recognise environmentally responsible products and services. They believe in adhering to global best practice when assessing, testing and independently auditing products, materials and services for the Australian market.

As the pioneers in Australian ecolabelling, they follow the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) 14024 standard. It sets out the global principles and procedures they then use to develop our own standards for GECA ecolabels.
